Base64 Encoder / Decoder
Encode text as Base64 or decode Base64 back into text. Text is converted using UTF-8, so non-English characters work correctly.
How to use it
- Paste text to encode, or Base64 to decode.
- Choose Encode or Decode. Tick "URL-safe" if the Base64 uses - and _ instead of + and /.
- Copy the result.
Limitations
- Base64 is an encoding, not encryption. Anyone can decode it.
- Decoding only works when the bytes are valid UTF-8 text. Binary data (like images) is not shown as text.
- Whitespace and line breaks inside Base64 input are ignored.
Frequently asked questions

What is URL-safe Base64?
A variant that uses - and _ instead of + and /, and often drops the = padding, so it fits inside URLs.
Is Base64 secure?
