Limitations

• Word counting follows the browser’s Unicode word rules. Other programs (Word, Google Docs) may differ by a few words.
• Reading time assumes 200 words per minute and speaking time 130 words per minute. These are rough averages.
• Sentence counting looks for . ! ? and the Urdu full stop (۔); abbreviations like "Dr." can add extra sentences.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with Urdu?

Yes. Words are split using the browser’s Unicode text segmentation, which supports Urdu and many other languages.

Is my text saved?

No. The text stays in the page and is gone when you close or refresh it.

How is reading time worked out?

Word count divided by 200 words per minute, rounded up to the next minute for anything over zero.
